SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE PROJECTS IN MEXICO

Today, more than half of the population lives in urban areas and this figure will continue to increase in the coming years, so architecture, design and public policies must go hand in hand to ensure that cities offer citizens the opportunity to live in spaces with the necessary requirements to improve their quality of life in every way.

Achieving comfortable environments in sufficient quantity to supply the population without harming the environment is one of the great challenges currently facing countries and their large cities. Fortunately, in Mexico and in most countries, actions are already being taken to promote the design of solutions that meet current needs and focus on sustainable architecture for the construction of new spaces.

In Mexico we can already find several examples of this form of environmentally friendly construction, which takes into account both the reduction of energy consumption and the fact that the materials used in the construction have been provided by green companies.

These are three Mexican green buildings that we should all know about:

  • VASCONCELOS LIBRARY, CDMX

  • CONTAINER CITY, PUEBLA

  • THE LARGEST ROOFTOP IN LATIN AMERICA
